Winter break

We managed to get away for a break and headed up to the north NSW coast to visit Ian, Julie, Hayley, Alana and Matthew. They are living on a beautiful country property 10 minutes inland from Macksville, about 50 minutes south of Coffs Harbour.

Some very nice beaches nearby. Despite being mid winter the water was very inviting (for some)

Rachel bought herself a new netbook. With Mr Rudds education rebates it worked out about $200 so its very hard to go past. Not a bad little gadget for long road trips too.

We took a trip to Dorrigo and had an enthralling walk in the rainforest. Beautiful rivers, waterfalls and forests. There is no drought in this area. What we would call a river in Melbourne is called a creek up here.

Ventured up to Coffs and visited the dolphins. A very interactive show with plenty of dolphin contact before and after.

Seal Rocks was a really nice stop over on the way home. Good waves, interesting beach, and the camp ground had a special on: kids were free!

Came back through Sydney and wandered around The Rocks and Opera house. The kids hadn't been before and were suitably impressed.
