Well we are safe and sound back in Holland. The camper has been returned without a scratch after 5000 km. I never quite relaxed driving it but thats probably a good thing. It is very difficult to describe the experience we have had, it has been amazing.
We are now staying in cabins in Wognum, about 40km north of Amsterdam, and have had the first of family do's (more about that soon)
Here is a brief catch up on what we have been up to since Rome.
The mandatory Pisa photo.

Stayed in a caravan park in Italy with a big TV to watch the world cup with about a hundred dutchies

Surfing Mediterranean style. Still good getting in the sea, although we kept getting kicked off apparently private beaches, which were packed.

A beach we stayed at near St Tropez. Another absolutely packed area, but this is about 10pm so its just us.

Pont du Gard, near Nimes. Hot, but a good river for swimming.

Some of the back roads through central France are great.

Jenna loves the SmartCars, which are everywhere.
Observation; SmartCar doesn't necessarily equal smart driver.

3 days in Paris was action packed. I reckon we walked about 20 k's while there.

The Australian War Memorial at Villers-Bretoneaux in the Somme. Something we had been wanting to visit. Magnificent hilltop view over the area. Paul Keatings unknown soldier speech is displayed. The whole area is very evocative...

Caught up with Brian and Grace again in Brugge, Belguim, and had a great time
