She also 'graduated' from primary school, and they had a graduation dinner at Marybrooke. I must admit at first I thought it a bit over the top for grade 6 and feared a deb type hoo ha, but after seeing how good it was for the kids, teachers and parents I thought it was terrific. The kids had prepared a short slideshow on how they had changed at primary school, which was played as they came up for their award. The class also had a couple of songs with moves that they performed. Later the parents left them to have dinner and we arrived back for pick up to a dance party that was going off.
Mrs Broecker has been Rachels teacher for the last 2 years, and we couldn't have asked for a better one for our daughter and are very thankful. Sadly she is moving on to another school, we were hoping to have her teach all our kids.
The last day of school, which was Jennas first year too. It really does fly by.Rachel was awarded the Byron Didcock award, which is like student of the year. Byron was a student with cystic fibrosis who died a couple of years after grade 6. Apparently he was a really kind kid and the school named the award after him
Our family present this year is a swimming pool, which at the moment is 75% installed. But we also got a kayak....
Had a nice couple of days at Newhaven with Hank & Vicki and Dave and his family over from WA. Our kids have gone from being the youngest cousins (on my side) to the oldest cousins (on Annemaries side). Its interesting noting the changes.
We had Christmas eve again with Hank and Vicki, and with all the family together and staying overnight it made for a full house. Lots of good food, presents and fun
With two of my brothers at opposite ends of the country the Christmas dinner on my side is significantly smaller these days, but very enjoyable nonetheless.
